How Long Has This Been Going On?

Why do I seem to be caught up inside a dream
All my life, it's always been my shadow and me
Over my shoulder there's always a voice somewhere
Saying I never should try to set my heart free
I wish that love would come and take me in her arms
Show me what I've never known.
Where I could hold someone words like right and wrong
Just fade away like yesterday
Lonely won't leave me alone
Lonely won't leave me alone
Why, tell me why, won't even let me fall in love
Oooooh everywhere I go always by my side
Won't even let me fall in love
I try and say I love you but the words won't come through
In my eyes, see all the tears and sad memories
Why can't I start out new and leave that old feeling too far behind
I guess that lonely needs company
Around each bend of road
I'm thinking that in time there will be that rainbow's end
But when I follow those self illusions
I find that it's only lonely and me again
Lonely won't leave me alone
Lonely won't leave me alone
Why, tell me why, won't even let me fall in love
Oooooh everywhere I go always by my side
Won't even let me fall in love
Lonely won't leave me alone
I wish that love would come
Lonely won't leave me alone
And take me home
Lonely...

-Jermaine Jackson, "Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone"

Mother's Day (Again!) and though I am at Mom's house
, she is not. She went to sis' earlier and will either come home late as she insists, or be talked into staying overnight. Either way, we're good, as I have been here for a couple of days now.

I was very impressed with a 2004 film I saw for the first time called "Heights" with an ensemble cast including Glenn Close, James Marsden, Jesse Bradford, and others. Glenn Close is fabulous! She totally lights up the screen when she's on, and, in this film anyway, a darker-haired look is really working for her. "Heights" is the kind of film that you can tell all involved were passionate about making. I can just see everyone doing whatever they could to be a part of it. Why? Well, because it's a film tht is both well-paced, and meaningful. The time-span in the main characters' lives is not a long one, but the ideas that are explored in that limited time are quite thought-provoking.

I cannot believe both hotties and fine actors James Marsden and Jesse Bradford are also part of the remarkable cast! Bradford I most recently saw in "Happy Endings" (with Lisa Kudrow, Tom Arnold, Jason Ritter, and others), a similar film themetically and stylistically -- yet different. I still cannot belive he's the same guy from "Swimfan". His look has been sooooo different in recent roles. What an actor! He's been acting sine 8-months old, and both his parents had been actors ... James Marsden!!! Well well well, I am a sucker for his sculpted good looks, and the fact that he can act on top of THAT has been a wonderful bonus. Before this, I most recently saw him in a new fav, "The 24th Day" also starring Canada's Scott Speedman ("Felicity"). What's interesting here is that "24th" also contains an element or two found in "Heights". Ok, I do know there are really only a few ideas floating around out there, and that most have been explored. But that is not the issue here, not a point I am trying to make. Both films explore different ideas with similar themes or aspects therein, and each do so in their on unique manner. Really, having the same actors doing stories that I find personally compelling is a delightful treat. No complaints!
